2016-09-08-04-47-03What is Co-op?

Co-op is short for cooperative.

Whereas most homeschool moms (especially ones new to homeschooling) may not have had previous experience with homeschool co-ops, we have been involved in cooperative education for over 10 years.

So, what is a homeschool co-op?  Co-ops vary from group to group, but in general, homeschool co-ops are groups of homeschooling families who join together to enrich their homeschooling experience by learning from and with one another. Often these groups will participate in field trips, sports, classes, etc. There are often mom’s night out activities and retreats to encourage and refresh us moms in the midst of our busy lives.

2016-10-31-00-07-29The children benefit from the opportunity to play and learn with their friends, and they also get to do activities that may be harder to do with just a child or two at home.

Each session offers different classes. Each mom is assigned a class to teach or assist with during each session. We find ways to use each mom’s unique talents and interests. We have had a variety of classes for all ages; ranging from writing to literature, art to music, and American Sign Language to French.

Joining a homeschool co-op is just one of many ways to enrich your family’s homeschool experience. Join today, there is so much we can learn from one another!

and let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”   -Hebrews 10:24-25
